Index › How we work › Decisions taken
This page is the record of every choice, with who took it and when. Read next: Progress.
One row per decision, numbered, never renumbered. A decision is overturned by a new row that names the one it replaces.
| # | Date | Decision | Who | Recorded in |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| D1 | 24-09-2026 | Every function of eRegulations and TradePortal 7.x is kept; only their implementations are simplified. | melux | lot 1 design §2 |
| D2 | 24-09-2026 | One installation per country: one common image, one deployment and one Postgres database per country; a Postgres server may be shared. | melux | lot 1 design §2 |
| D3 | 24-09-2026 | Sign-in is local: name and password in the instance's database, through next-auth. No Keycloak. | melux | lot 1 design §2 |
| D4 | 24-09-2026 | A new public API, /api/v1, documented in OpenAPI, plus the legacy routes outsiders call (/Filters, /Objectives, /Procedures) in their historic shape. Simplifications-Next moves to the new API. |
melux | lot 1 design §2 |
| D5 | 24-09-2026 | Six lots: 1 foundation, data model and importer; 2 public site and API; 3 back-office, editing and publishing; 4 translations, consistency review, statuses, fine rights; 5 TradePortal modules; 6 operations, export archives, fleet deployment. They become the phases of step 7 by D9. | melux | lot 1 design §2 |
| D6 | 24-09-2026 | Order: lot 1, then lot 2, the public site, then the back-office. | melux | lot 1 design §2 |
| D7 | 24-09-2026 | The stack is aligned on Academy-Next: Next.js, React, TypeScript, Prisma and Postgres, next-auth, next-intl, Tailwind with Design-Next's components. | melux | lot 1 design §4.1 |
| D8 | 24-09-2026 | Existing instances, 7.x and legacy 4.x and 5.x, move by a command-line importer of their SQL Server backups. An import is always a full reload, and can be repeated until the switch. | melux | lot 1 design §3, §7 |
| D9 | 01-10-2026 | The work follows the tariff calculator's seven steps, each through four marks: written, agreed in principle, checked by reviewers, signed off. It restarts at step 1; the lot 1 design of 24-09-2026 is kept as source material and feeds step 4. No product code is written before step 7. | melux | concept note §7 |
| D10 | 01-10-2026 | Until step 7 the repository holds the documents, their generator and a small server, with / sent to /docs/. The Markdown is the source; the pages are generated from it and never edited by hand. |

| D11 | 01-10-2026 | The documents are written in English, dates as dd-mm-yyyy. Decisions are credited to melux, remarks to who made them. The two sources of 24-09-2026 stay in French, as written. | melux | this log |
| D12 | 01-10-2026 | The documents are published at eregulations-next.eregistrations.dev/docs; a push to main redeploys them. |

| D13 | 01-10-2026 | TradePortal's duty and tax calculator is the tariff calculator, unctad-ai/tariff-calculator-platform, embedded. Today's proxy to ASYCUDA and its cache are not ported. |
melux | concept note §6 |
| D14 | 01-10-2026 | Before its switch, each country's installation runs at <country>-next.eregistrations.dev; on the day of the switch it takes the country's current address. |
melux | concept note §8 |
| D15 | 01-10-2026 | Functions already dead in 7.x are left out: the CR-Alerts digest, "send to translation", the Partners table in administration (the public directory stays), the duplicate Razor procedure page, /TradeStatistics, and the dead tables. This bounds D1. |
